With 16% of the US online casino GGR market share, DraftKings tops the list. DraftKings, well-known for its daily fantasy sports, is establishing itself as a significant force in the US online casino industry. The corporation runs online casinos in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. DraftKings Casino brought 75% of its $50 million online wagers to West Virginia in its first month of business. DraftKings IR claims its online casino app now has over 360 different games available.

Suburban Rivers

With 16% of the market share for US online casinos’ GGR, SugarHouse-Rivers ranks second on the list. Rush Street Interactive is the owner of Sugarhouse-Rivers Casino. The business runs online casinos in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. One of the first casinos to apply for an online gambling license in Pennsylvania was SugarHouse Casino. The permit, authorized by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in 2018, enables SugarHouse to provide visitors and residents of Pennsylvania with online access to slots, table games, and poker.

Betfair-FanDuel

With 15% of the market share for American online casinos’ GGR, Betfair-Fanduel is third on the list. In 2018, Paddy Power Betfair, FanDuel, and their US counterparts amalgamated. Together, they run internet casinos in New Jersey and Pennsylvania (FanDuel business) (Betfair operation). Their parent firm, Flutter Entertainment, owns both businesses. Flutter is a global gaming titan with more than 13 million users. The Flutter umbrella includes well-known companies including Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, SkyBet, and FOXBet.

Roar

With 13% of the market share for US online casinos’ GGR, ROAR is fourth on the list. MGM Resorts International and GVC Holdings have partnered to create ROAR Digital, which includes the BetMGM, Borgata, PartyCasino, and PartyPoker brands. Given the effects of COVID-19, the CEO of ROAR Digital predicts that bet MGM will produce more than $130 million in net profits this year, primarily from iGaming (internet casinos) in New Jersey (i.e. lack of live sports). Under the BetMGM name, ROAR Digital operates live internet casinos in New Jersey and West Virginia. It also intends to enter the Pennsylvania market this year.

The Golden Nugget online casino, owned by Tilman Fertitta, finishes in fifth. Golden Nugget runs its online casino solely in New Jersey, where it dominates the industry. In the third quarter, the company saw record user activity, and by 2020, New Jersey GGR may have exceeded $100 million. The New Jersey Casino Control Commission recently gave the business permission to finalize the merger with SPAC Landcadia Holdings II.

With 5% of the GGR market share for US online casinos, PokerStars is ranked sixth. PokerStars is a part of Flutter Entertainment, along with runner-up BetFair-FanDuel. The well-known poker website from Europe opened in New Jersey in 2016. Users can access online poker, slots, and casino games with PokerStars in New Jersey.
